Arrival & Dismissal Plan

Starting Tuesday, Jan. 20, we are adjusting our drop off and pickup procedures before and after school. At the request of the City of Tacoma and in collaboration with our Transportation and Safety and Security teams, the following change will be made:

The MAIN parking lot in front of the school is reserved for school buses and official transportation vehicles ONLY during drop off and pick up. Buses and district vehicles will be double parked (blocking both lanes) and remain there until complete. Cars in the main parking lot will not be able to exit during drop off and pick up times.

This change means that:

Alternate short-term parking is now available in the church parking lot on the corner of 76th and S. Sheridan during the following drop off and pickup times:
- Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday: 8:30 a.m. - 9:10 a.m. and 3:10 p.m. – 3:45 p.m.
- Wednesday: 9:30 a.m. – 10:10 a.m. and 3:10 p.m. – 3:45 p.m.
Parents/Guardians picking up students from the front (including TK and DHH) must park on the street or in the church parking lot and walk up to receive your students.
Birney parking lots are now right turn only upon exiting.
Parents/guardians can continue to use the drop off/pick up line on S. 76th Street but must exit turning right onto S. 76th Street.
